The Acton-Boxborough Regional School District and the Town of Acton Health Department are partnering to offer COVID-19 vaccination clinics for children ages 5-12.
For those of you who responded to the survey we sent earlier this week, thank you! Of the 1377 responses received as of this email, 91% of you indicated you plan to get your child(ren) vaccinated, and 94% of you who plan to vaccinate your child(ren) shared that you are interested in a clinic on our campus.
At this time, we are tentatively planning two clinics (first-come, first served) at R.J. Grey Junior High School as follows:
- Clinic A (your sign-up would include both Dose 1 and Dose 2 clinics)
- Dose 1: Saturday, November 13th from 8:00-4:00pm
- Dose 2: Saturday, December 4th from 8:00-4:00
- Clinic B (your sign-up would include both Dose 1 and Dose 2 clinics)
- Dose 1: Saturday, November 20th from 8:00-4:00pm
- Dose 2: Saturday, December 11th from 8:00-4:00
The Acton Health Department has ordered the maximum of 300 initial vaccine doses on behalf of the children in our district, and we anticipate we will be able to place another order for 300 more on Monday, 11/8/21. However, if you have been watching the news, you know that the Federal Government is in charge of shipments to each state right now, so we have little to no control over our supply at the local level.
What you need to know:
- With the limited supply on hand, we plan to book 300 appointments for Clinic A, Dose 1 at this time.
- We will add additional doses to Clinic A as we receive them.
- We will communicate with you with an email like this each time we open additional vaccination slots.

With many holiday gatherings quickly approaching, we hope we can get at least one shot in our elementary students’ arms by Thanksgiving to mitigate the spread of Covid. Knowing we have limited vaccine availability, we encourage you to visit the MassVax site at https://vaxfinder.mass.gov/, where you can filter vaccines by the 5-11 year-old age range and find available appointments. Many pharmacies and clinics will be adding slots as they receive doses, as well.
